What does a counselling Session COST?
A one hour counselling session at Balanced Kids is $130
CAN I CLAIM A REBATE for COUNSELLING SESSIONS?
Balanced Kids Counselling is a registered provider for MEDIBANK, AHM, BUPA and ARHG. You may be eligible to claim a rebate for counselling sessions if you have Private Health Insurance ‘Extras’ cover that includes Counselling. Please ask for details to make a claim to be added to your invoice after your counselling session.
(ARHG includes GMHBA, CUA Health, Phoenix Health, St Luke’s Health, AIA, Westfund).
Unfortunately, at this point in time, the Australian government does not extend Medicare rebates to qualified, registered counsellors so counselling sessions are an out of pocket expense (unless you have extras private health insurance that covers counselling sessions)
Can I USE NDIS funds for Counselling Sessions?
If you are self managed or plan managed, and your plan covers counselling (NDIS CODE: 15_043_0128_1_3) you should be covered for counselling sessions.
IS A GP REFERRAL REQUIRED?
There is no need for a GP referral (or diagnosis) to attend Balanced Kids Counselling but any information from your GP is always welcome.
Can I Stay with my child/TEEN?
You are more than welcome to join the session with your child/teen. You are invited to do what works best for you each time you visit.
How Can I Pay for MY SESSION?
Balanced Kids sends an invoice by email after your counselling session. Payment is required within 24 hours of your appointment.
What age group do you work with?
Mainly 4-16 years old but this can be flexible. Sometimes it’s the parent(s) who can benefit most from a counselling session. Feel free to discuss your needs.

Ballarat: “The Well” Wellness & Creative Hub for Young People and their families. Find us at the rear of 410 York Street, Ballarat East. (Use the driveway on the extreme right, drive to the back carpark and you’ll see '“The Well” (previously known as York Street Kindergarten.)
Is Balanced Kids affiliated with York Street Church ?
Balanced Kids Counselling is an independent, privately owned business, renting a counselling space from THE WELL and has no affiliation with York St Church.
